And in the darkness confound them all
There was Eru, the One, who in Arda is called Ilúvatar; and he made first the Ainur, the Holy Ones, that were the offspring of his thought, and they were with him before aught else was made. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And He is knower of all things. Yet ever as they listened they came to deeper understanding, and increased in unison and harmony. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. They said: Be glorified! We have no knowledge saving that which Thou hast taught us. And since I have kindled you with the Flame Imperishable, ye shall show forth your powers in adorning this theme, each with his own thoughts and devices, if he will. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And when We said unto the angels: Prostrate yourselves before Adam, they fell prostrate, all save Iblis. Never since have the Ainur made any music like to this music, though it has been said that a greater still shall be made before Ilúvatar by the choirs of the Ainur and the Children of Ilúvatar after the end of days. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

But Satan caused them to deflect therefrom and expelled them from the happy state in which they were; and We said: Fall down, one of you a foe unto the other! There shall be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a time. But as the theme progressed, it came into the heart of Melkor to interweave matters of his own imagining that were not in accord with the theme of Ilúvatar, for he sought therein to increase the power and glory of the part assigned to himself. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. We said: Go down, all of you, from hence; but verily there cometh unto you from Me a guidance; and whoso followeth My guidance, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. Yet he found not the Fire, for it is with Ilúvatar. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. O Children of Israel! Remember My favour wherewith I favoured you, and fulfil your part of the covenant, and fear Me.
Then the discord of Melkor spread ever wider, and the melodies which had been heard before foundered in a sea of turbulent sound. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. Establish worship, pay the poor-due, and bow your heads with those who bow in worship. But the discord of Melkor rose in uproar and contended with it, and again there was a war of sound more violent than before, until many of the Ainur were dismayed and sang no longer, and Melkor had the mastery. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And guard yourselves against a day when no soul will in aught avail another, nor will intercession be accepted from it, nor will compensation be received from it, nor will they be helped. And it seemed at last that there were two musics progressing at one time before the seat of Ilúvatar, and they were utterly at variance. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And when We did appoint for Moses forty nights of solitude, and then ye chose the calf, when he had gone from you, and were wrong-doers.

And it essayed to drown the other music by the violence of its voice, but it seemed that its most triumphant notes were taken by the other and woven into its own solemn pattern. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Ye have wronged yourselves by your choosing of the calf for worship so turn in penitence to your Creator, and kill the guilty yourselves. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And when ye said: O Moses! We will not believe in thee till we see Allah plainly; and even while ye gazed the lightning seized you.
TL;DR - Conclusion.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And when We said: Go into this township and eat freely of that which is therein, and enter the gate prostrate, and say: "Repentance. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And when Moses asked for water for his people, We said: Smite with thy staff the rock. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And when ye said: O Moses! We are weary of one kind of food; so call upon thy Lord for us that He bring forth for us of that which the earth groweth of its herbs and its cucumbers and its corn and its lentils and its onions.
